Great outdoor/nature photography bag!

- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2014I purchased this bag as an upgrade from my venerable Canon 2400 SLR gadget bag as I outgrew its small size. I have recently refocussed my photography efforts toward outdoor/nature photography and decided I needed a new bag to carry my growing collection of lenses and accessories. Here's what I think of it:
Size:
This bag, upon first impression, actually seems a bit on the small size until you open it up. There is a lot of room in it for a number of different lenses, bodies, and accessories. This is what I got in it right now: Canon Rebel T2i, Canon 18-55mm kit lens, Tamron 70-300mm VC, Sigma 105mm Macro, Tokina 11-16mm, various wires, charger and accessories, a collapsible light diffuser/reflector, and a travel tripod strapped to the side of the bag. If I took out the wires which I really don't need I could easily fit another large lens. But let's get down to business, how many lenses can you really fit in this thing? If they were all the size of the kit lens or the Tokina, I could probably fit at least 7 since they can be placed in the bag standing up (when the bag is on its back). And that's of course with the T2i body. Now if you have all lenses the size of the Tamron or Sigma, you might be able to squeeze 4 in the bag depending on how you do the layout. And if you have really large lenses, expect even fewer. This is something to keep in mind, especially if you're thinking of doing wildlife and nature photography like I am. You're going to need some big lenses to get those great shots, and they take up a lot of room.
Construction:
This bag is built tough. Even though I've only had it for a month, you can tell the quality of the materials. The really nice part of it is that the interior is customizable, so you can change the layout to fit all the lenses and accessories you have. Plus, I love the side tripod straps. That makes keeping everything together on a simple hike so much easier.
Protection:
I can't say that I dropped the bag full of equipment or otherwise did something that would normally be regrettable yet, but I can say that it looks well enough padded to absorb hits and drops. Outside of falling backwards with the bag on my back, I think it will protect my equipment well.
Design:
At first, I was hesitant buying a backpack style bag as I always liked to carry my camera with a side bag. However, the benefits of putting the weight on your back instead of one arm has a great advantage. It doesn't tire your arms when you want to hand shoot stuff! Plus, you can keep your equipment on your back at all times, even when shooting. I can see this being a great advantage out in the 'field'. It does have one disadvantage as you have to take the bag off your back before getting to the equipment which adds time, sound, and movement (something that may be problematic when shooting skittish wildlife).
Overall:
This bag seriously can't be beat when you factor in the price. It's even cheaper than the sale price for my old Canon bag! I can't yet judge its durability as I haven't had it long enough, but just for its ease of use and large size I'd readily buy one a year if I had to.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2013I have been looking for the perfect camera bag for what seems like an eternity. I was at a camera store and found a Canon Backback that was very similar to this one. I shoot with a Nikon... I didn't bother me that it was branded, as i figured I could always patch up the logo if I cared about branding. I didn't buy the bag at the store because I looked on Amazon and found the same bag for less money. When I returned home I looked at the Canon bag and then I saw this bag as a suggestion. This bag was MUCH less expensive than its Canon counterpart and seemed to have a little more room to grow. I purchased this bag and I have been so happy. I am a petit person and sometimes backpacks are made for larger backs, this one fits me perfectly. The straps and back are well padded.
You can put a ton of gear in this bag. I currently have a D90 with a 16-85 lens attached, a speed light, a Lensbaby, a 35mm lens, a 50mm lens, a 70-300mm lens, and a 60mm macro lens. I'm sure If I reconfigured the interior I could find a way to put more gear in the main compartment.
There is a pocket on one side for easy access to whatever readily accessible thing you might need. The main interior has two zippered pockets to store extra batteries, SD Cards or whatever else you can think of. The secondary section is roomy. I usually store my keys and cellphone in it as well as my iPad. The very front zipped pocket is also very handy for holding business cards or other small items.
The straps are easily adjusted, which I like. There is also a way to carry a tripod on one side of the bag. I do not use it for that, instead I use the loops to hold my Lensbaby bag of optics. It is a great bag. I wasn't all that fond of the "Amazon" labeled zipper pulls, but that is not a reason to not buy this bag. So far it feels very sturdy and it is much easier for me to carry than a traditional camera bag (of which I have four) since it is a backpack it allows even weight distribution so my back doesn't hurt from carrying heavy equipment on my shoulder. I highly recommend this bag.
Update:
It is 2017 and I am still using this bag! I have this bag and take it everywhere. I've upgraded my camera and my lenses, but not this bag. The stitching is still holding strong and it still protects all my gear. It really is a great bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value for money
This is a basic bag, as the title says. If you are looking for a well built, well cushioned bag for your camera then this is not for you.
I primarily use it for carrying a Nikon DSLR attached with a Nikon 200-500. The are still some space for a few small items. It has additional pockets as well.
It’s not waterproof neither. But this is a very lightweight and easy to carry bag. If you know what you are going to get, I you will like it

5.0 out of 5 stars Goede tas, flexibel qua indeling en genoeg stootvast
Voor de gemiddelde hobbyfotograaf past alles in deze tas. De indeling is naar wens in te delen en er zitten genoeg "kussens" in om de boel veilig te houden. Voor dit bedrag echt een koopje.

5.0 out of 5 stars love the bag
have been using the bag for a while now. take it everywhere with me. still in good condition.
love the belt around waste because when I carry the camera I can stick it into the belt for support... maybe not everyone's choice but I love it
side pockets a bit small so I do not use them much only for tissues and lens cleaner
for me it serves the purpose and I'm happy with the backpack

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente opción. Super recomendable

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bag for the Money!
Great pack. Holds my DSLR camera w 4 (Canon 18-55mm, 50mm, 18-200mm, 55-250mm) lenses, 2 extra batteries and a charger, as well as my external flash and bunch of memory cards. I like the adaptable dividers in bag, it makes it easy to custom fit all your gear. Basically all my equipment fits into this bag with room to spare.
Only downside is that the shoulder straps could be a bit longer and the straps for the tripod doesn't lock if you carry a big full size tripod, but it works perfectly for mono-pod.
summary:
Pros:
-Good build and material.
-Good feel to the zippers.
-Lots of internal dividers included
-Many Pockets - the front one even fits my tablet and phone.
-Lightweight
Cons:
-Short shoulder straps
-Tripod straps should be made by velcro to have better locking on the Tripod
